Real flame, real care
Emilie gives you more freedom to create and restyle candlelight, but it is still a real candle with a real flame. Read these instructions before use and keep them for future reference.
Keep it away from children, pets, draughts and anything that can catch fire. Place it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface and extinguish it before leaving the room or going to sleep.
Prepare carefully
Take a moment to check the complete setup before every use.
The container must be clean, dry, undamaged, stable and suitable for candle use. Do not use cracked glass, lightweight containers, flammable materials or anything that may tip easily.
Remove matches, wick trimmings, packaging and loose decorations from the candle area. Do not allow flammable items to sit on or within the wax pearls.
Follow the instructions supplied with your refill, vessel or set. Different container widths and shapes may require different wick placement or quantities.
The foundation of the setup
The freedom to use different vessels comes with responsibility for choosing one that is genuinely suitable.
For a single wick, use a vessel with an internal width of at least 10 cm. Wider vessels may require multiple wicks with even spacing.
Glass, ceramic and metal may be suitable, but material alone is not enough. The vessel must be designed or reasonably suitable for candle heat, free from damage and able to remain stable during use.
Keep the flame well away from the vessel sides, rim and any decorative element. The flame must never touch the container.
Do not use plastic, thin decorative glass, cracked ceramics, paper containers, wooden containers or objects that can melt, ignite or become unstable.
Control the flame
The wick position and visible length directly affect the flame.
Position the wick securely within the pearls and keep it upright before lighting. Do not allow the wick to rest against the side of the vessel or touch the base.
Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes unusually large, unstable, flickers repeatedly or produces visible smoke. Allow everything to cool before adjusting or replacing the wick.
Do not group flames together. Use even spacing appropriate to the vessel and keep separate flames at least 10 cm apart unless specific tested guidance supplied by Emilie states otherwise.
Do not add, remove, reposition or trim a wick while it is lit or while the wax is hot. Extinguish the flame and let the setup cool fully first.
Stay present
A burning candle should remain within sight and under active supervision.
Extinguish the candle whenever you leave the room, even briefly, and always before sleeping.
Never carry, tilt or reposition a burning candle. The vessel and melted wax may be hot. Let the candle cool completely before touching or moving it.
Never add fragrance oil, essential oil, water or any other liquid to a burning candle or hot wax. Added substances can alter combustion and create a fire or injury risk.
Do not place dried flowers, paper, glitter, fabric, plastic, wood or other flammable decorations near the flame. Decorative items must not obstruct the wick or fall into the melted wax.
Keep out of reach
Fragrance-free does not mean child-safe or pet-safe.
Place lit candles where children and pets cannot reach, brush against, pull, climb towards or knock the setup.
The loose pearls and free-standing wick influenced the product design, but they do not remove the risks of a real flame and do not guarantee extinguishing in every situation.
Keep loose wax pearls, spare wicks, fragrance products and packaging away from children and animals when not in use.
An adult should remain in the room and be able to respond immediately. Cameras, monitors or being elsewhere in the home are not substitutes.
