What makes a pearled candle different?
Traditional candles combine the wax, wick and container into one finished product. When the wax is gone, the candle is finished too.
Pearled candles work differently.
Emilie uses loose, plant-based wax pearls and prepared cotton wicks, so the candle is not permanently fixed to one scent, colour or arrangement. Pour the pearls into a suitable vessel, position a wick and light.
When you want something new, refresh it. Change the scent. Change the colour. Restyle the vessel. Then create your candle again.

Pour your pearls
Add your pearled wax to an Emilie vessel or another suitable heat-safe container.

Add a fresh wick
Position a prepared cotton wick securely in the pearls, following the recommended spacing for your vessel.

Enjoy the glow
Light the wick and enjoy real candlelight as the wax immediately surrounding it begins to melt.

Create it again
Once everything has fully cooled, remove the hardened wax around the used wick, refresh the pearls and add a new wick when you are ready.

Pearled Candle FAQs
What is a pearled candle?
A pearled candle uses loose wax pearls instead of a solid block of wax fixed inside a jar. The pearls are poured into a suitable vessel and used with a prepared wick, giving you more freedom to refill and restyle the candle over time.
How do you use pearled candle wax?
Pour the wax pearls into a suitable heat-safe vessel, position a prepared wick securely in the wax and light it. Always follow the recommended vessel size, wick spacing and candle safety guidance before burning.
Can I use Emilie wax pearls in my own container?
Yes, provided the container is suitable for candle use and follows Emilie's container and wick-spacing guidance. If you are unsure about a vessel, check our Tips & Tricks and Candle Safety guides before lighting.
Can pearled candle wax be reused?
The loose pearls that have not melted can remain in the vessel and be refreshed for your next burn. Once the candle has completely cooled, the hardened wax surrounding the used wick can be removed before positioning a fresh wick.
What is the difference between scented and fragrance-free Emilie refills?
Scented Refills come in white pearled wax with a choice of Emilie fragrances. Fragrance-Free Refills let you choose from our colour palette without added fragrance. Both contain 1kg of pearled wax and 50 prepared cotton wicks.
